This 3 hour course, previously known as POVA, enables participants to examine the replacement legislation, Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act. The training will involve identifying the different types of abuse as well as its causes. The course also explores ways to avoid being abusive and outlines the action to take if abuse is suspected. Additionally people will have an opportunity to examine the implementation of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards legislation to ensure that people are not restrained unnecessarily.
