The Mental Capacity Act 2005 came into force in 2007. It’s desgned to strengthen the protection to vulnerable adults. The Act also provides mechanisms to ensure that care is always provided in the best interests of people who may or may not be able to consent to social or health care. This 3 hour course also clarifies the procedures that have to be followed to ensure the “Deprivation of liberty safegaurds” are being followed from April 2009.
